Garstang Community Academy has won the prestigious Secondary School of the Year award at the Active Lancashire Awards for its exceptional commitment to students’ physical and mental well-being. The school excels in making fitness and inclusivity central to its ethos, offering a variety of extracurricular opportunities and hosting community events.
Head of PE Katie Rainbow said: “Winning this award was a huge shock and surprise, but an incredibly proud moment for us all.”
This marks a double triumph, with the academy recently receiving a Barclays award for championing equal football opportunities for girls and boys.
