On 20th September, nine of our amazing year 11 students got the opportunity to attend the Physics at Work Exhibition at the University of Cambridge.
They made a flying visit with other students from across Fylde Coast Academy Trust. The students experienced a morning of short workshops delivered by potential employers such as the British Antarctic Survey and the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE). They also found out about research at the University itself, on topics such as optoelectronics, where they learnt about how we can use semiconductors to make flexible solar panels and those new folding phone screens.
Not only this but we all received an amazing evening meal and breakfast at Churchill College and got to experience college accommodation for the night! The students represented the school impeccably and a brilliant time was had by all.
