Congratulations to Jack who recently qualified and competed at the Royal Highland Show.
Year 8 student Jack has been assistant children from Calder Vale Primary, with riding lessons at Barton Equestrian Centre.
The Headteacher of Calder Vale Primary said "The junior children from Calder Vale St. John's Primary go for weekly riding lessons and Jack has been there on a number of occasions to support the children (some of whom have SEN). I know Jack has been given a special dispensation to be out of school on these afternoons and I wanted to thank the school for allowing him to support us.
Jack is a fantastic role model for our children. He is courteous and helpful and so eager to help the children learn more about horses and develop their riding skills. He has demonstrated various skills for the children on one of his own horses and is able to guide our children when they ride, giving them advice and tips on how to improve. As I mentioned, a number of our children have quite significant SEN and Jack has been fantastically patient and supportive - fielding a million questions whilst also making sure the children are safe and happy.
Jack is a credit to his family and your school!"
