Mr Birch welcomed Mr Guy Topping, Managing Director of Barton Grange Garden Centre, as Principal Guest Speaker at the Garstang Community Academy Achievement Evening on Wednesday 11th November.
The school hall was full to capacity with students who left the academy in summer, their family members and invited guests.
As a year group the students attained the best GCSE results in the schools history, in addition to outstanding sport and community achievements.
Mr Topping presented individual subject based awards to students and gave an inspiring speech relating to his ethos of setting personal goals and constantly striving to move forward and improve which has resulted in his business, receiving the accolade on ‘National Garden Centre of the Year’ for the past four years now employing 500 local people.
The evening was enjoyed by all and a great celebration of the academy’s on-going success.
