At a Civic Ceremony on Thursday 15th October, attended by the Mayors of both Wyre and Garstang, Year 9 student Myles Sutcliffe was appointed Youth Mayor of Garstang for 2015/2016 with Faye Mower (also a GCA Year 9 student) as his Deputy.
Oliver Atkinson, (Year 9 student at Garstang Community Academy) the outgoing Youth Mayor, was presented with an Achievement Award by Tom Balmain, the Mayor of Wyre, for his outstanding work in the local community.
A great evening for Garstang Community Academy students and for Mayor Lynn Harter who has been instrumental in developing the youth council.
