Dear Parent/Guardian
I hope that you had an enjoyable and refreshing summer holiday, and that your child has been looking forward to the start of the new 2015/16 school year at Garstang Community Academy.
This year, our goal is inspire excellence in everyone, enabling all our students to achieve their potential as learners and as people. Whilst we take pride in the wonderful achievements of the outgoing Year 11 students, we recognize, as ever, that there is a job to be done to ensure standards remain as high as possible. A big focus area for us will be our “Pitch-in” Appeal, as we strive to raise £600,000 for an All-Weather-Pitch and provide our students, and the wider community, with world-class sporting facilities.
In order to help us further improve the quality of education your child receives at Garstang Community Academy, I would be very grateful if you would complete our annual Parent Questionnaire, via Parentmail.pmx in the Forms area. I would also like to take this opportunity to inform you that Open Evening is scheduled for Thursday, 17 September, from 6.00pm-8.30pm. In order to help staff prepare for this important event, I propose to close the school earlier than normal on 17/9/15 at 1.05pm, and have arranged for buses to collect the students at that time. Moreover, students will not be in school on Friday, 18th September, which is a designated staff training day.
Thank you for your continued support.
Yours sincerely
Phil Birch
